Extraordinary Recipes

Beaver tail Beans

From Buckskin Cookery (book of old hunting recipes from British Columbia)

‘Blister tail over fire til skin loosens. Pull skin off. Boil big black pot of beans. Add beaver tail. Add onion and salt. Put on lid and bury in good hot ashes in pit, for long time.’

From same book:
‘to remove skunk odour from clothes, wash repeatedly in strong cider vinegar. To remove it from a dog, bathe him in tomato juice.
