About

This site is the digital hump on the back of the Gastronaut book, and as such, it’s been made for anyone who’s interested in the mucky underbelly of food. I’ve built it for anyone who wants to find out more about the Gastronaut idea, or add their voice to new books. It is a horribly loss-making enterprise but it’s fun to do, and is my little present to anyone who has kindly shown an interest in (or even bought) the book.

Stefan Gates is a writer and food obsessive. If you’re interested, which I would imagine you’re not, here’s his CV.

Photos are all copyright Georgia Glynn Smith (except where noted)
If you’d like a picture of Stefan for any reason, you’re either a magazine editor who needs a mugshot to fill in some space, or you’re a bit weird. Either way, you’re still lovely, and here are some cheesy shots. If you use these, please credit Georgia Glynn Smith as the photographer otherwise I’ll get such a slap. Ta very.
