Although I try hard to look like a serious journalist (no, really, I do) sometimes it just doesn’t work out. And even though we’re working in some of the worst places in the world, people don’t spend their entire waking lives unhappy or desperate - they are complex people who have lives and emotions like ours - they just live in desperate situations.
